Through dedicated research, educational programs, and community engagement, we strive to ignite a lasting love for Puerto Rican flavors while honoring the traditions and history behind each dish.

Team

Chef Marilyn López

Founder and President

Renowned Chef Marilyn López was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. From a young age, she showed her passion for Culinary Arts inspired by her grandmother, Catalina. Her passion for gastronomy has led her to own several restaurants and to work as a Host Chef on various important television channels in Puerto Rico. She is currently the owner of Café Catalina, a top-quality coffee shop directly from the mountains of Jayuya, and La Biblioteka, a cocktail and tapas bar in Jayuya. As a Chef, she offers all her years of experience to the culinary community of the Country, providing Gastronomic Consulting services, Catering Services, "Cooking for the Stars." She is currently a Chef on the Hoy Día Puerto Rico program on Telemundo and is the founder of Mujeres con Sazón. She will soon release her first cookbook.

Chef Janshanic Santos López

Vice President

Chef Janshanic Santos was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. From a young age, she showed her passion for the Culinary Arts inspired by her mother, Marilyn López. Her passion for gastronomy led her to study Culinary Arts and simultaneously collaborate with her mother on various projects. Working alongside her mother for more than a decade inspired her to open her own restaurant, La Ventana in Piñones. After the devastation of Hurricane Maria on the island, Janshanic decided to move to Miami where she opened her new project, D' Pura Cepa in the culinary space Smorgasburg in Wynwood. The warm reception from the public catapulted her to participate in the Food Network show The Great Food Truck Race (season 16). In this competition, they successfully achieved 3rd place. D' Pura Cepa is a project that aims to introduce the diverse public of Miami to Puerto Rican street food. Currently, Chef Janshanic continues to lead the kitchen at D' Pura Cepa and collaborates with other businesses in South Florida. She also collaborates with her mother, Chef Marilyn López, at events in Miami and Puerto Rico.
